Traditional competences and skills for built cultural heritage

Objectives:

  • Developing a synopsis / overview of available training offers for improving construction skills for historic buildings and sites within partner countries (based on the principles of the BUILDUP roadmap)
  • Researching and presenting Country Reports (based Road maps for BUILDUP Skills)
  • Collecting best practice examples from the partner organisations and from other selected organisations which had successfully increased energy efficiency refurbished / renovated historic buildings
  • Analyse and document the ancient skills and competences of craftsmen in the partner organisations in order to develop a sound base for the curriculum to be developed

  • Initiating transfer of know-how, historic approaches and procedures to improve the energy efficiency under protecting the historic substance of European heritage

Harmonised training of traditional competences and skills for built cultural heritage

Objectives:

  • Outlining and delivering a training emphasising on:
    • What is important for craftsmen to work successfully in/on historic buildings?
    • How can/do the right procedures improve the energy efficiency of historic buildings?
    • What impacts of climate change do we have to consider and deal with?
  • Developing and offering a curriculum for certified further training (further education for blue- and white collar workers) for “Energy efficient cultural heritage sites” (Pro-Heritage; EQF level 4 and 5)
  • Developing a specialised training offer for selected craftsmen, which are relevant for the energy efficiency of historic buildings like: Window maker and joiner, Plumber, Roofer and slater, Mason and bricklayer, Carpenter, Plasterer, Stovesetter (Hafner), Painter, Builder and building contractor, Upholsterer, Blacksmith and fitter, Chaser, Engraver, Tiler, Electrician
  • Utilising educational tools developed in the Erasmus+ VET project MODI-FY standardised for qualitative sustainability and reconstruction/ conservation of (built) cultural heritage, in order to allow and guarantee sustainable use for tourism and other societal purposes
  • Developing and designing training materials for “Energy efficient cultural heritage sites”
  • Developing a specialised training offer for selected craftsmen, which will be trainers for other craftsmen
  • Developing and designing trainer materials for “Energy efficient cultural heritage sites”

Objectives:

  • Developing and evaluating the actual education system for traditional competences and skills for craftsmen working in the field of maintaining historic buildings
  • Conducting a feasibility study and developing a business plan
  • Developing a marketing concept for education of craftsmen, architects and others working in the field) including European certification and promotion of “Pro-Heritage” course offers to be implemented in a planned European Heritage Academy
  • Producing videos and other visual aids to show and explain the “right” procedures
  • Producing guidelines or instructions of “right” procedures

Dissemination and Exploitation

Objectives:

  • To diffuse PRO-Heritage knowledge and results to the public and selected target groups through the creation of a strategic Dissemination Plan and its execution during the project duration
  • To create a comprehensive Business Plan to align project operations with market needs and prepare the ground for the commercialisation of project outputs
  • Establishing robust relations with EU innovation communities towards enhancing the innovation capacity and potential of the project.
  • Define the Data Management Plan for opening PRO-Heritage data resulting from the activities of the project, to the EU Research and Innovation Community through the Open Research Data Pilot

Project management

Objectives:
